the superbowl vhs tape he brings her when she wakes up from her coma in one breath (and her deadpan "i knew there was a reason to live")

bringing her flowers to the hospital in memento mori (he lies, saying he stole them from a guy with broken legs to make her laugh)

the birthday keychain in tempus fugit (and when she finds a meaning to it, he claims "i just thought it was a pretty cool keychain")

that is a man who is always thinking about her.

it's nice to imagine that Stone's men are just like him (deadpan, quiet, not very emotional) but it's even better to imagine that they're all as if an energy drink was turned into a human, and that they only calm down in Stone's presence because they all believe he deserves a peaceful atmosphere to exist in whenever possible. the exact opposite of Fox's men, who fight him just because. the funny side-effect of this is that Stone seems more respected/intimidating than Fox is to a lot of non-guard clones and their Generals/Padawan Commanders, and Fox can't stand that any time it's brought up (for several reasons, mostly paranoia).

Grovyle, Celebi, and Dusknoir creating the most intricate plan regarding the most appropriate time to meet Hero and Partner again in the present while they’re next to the Passage of Time. How they’ll explore the present first as a trio for a couple more weeks/months, have Grovyle and Celebi reunite with the two whilst also giving a Big Heads Up regarding Dusknoir; where they’d then go on to see whether or not they truly want him there, and take the necessary action based on their decision. (Whether it’s a unanimous ‘fuck no we don’t want him back’, 50/50, or completely okay with starting over.) Nodding in agreement towards the plan and stepping into the portal together.

They then proceed to immediately get spotted by Hero and Partner just relaxing on the beach.

clear sky fucking WHAT, oh my god. how did NO-ONE in the editing process or even the writing process raise an eyebrow, clear sky terrorizes, beats up or brutalizes a woman in EVERY book of this arc, im honestly suprised he even saved thunder's daughter, it'd be more in character for him to just throw her at the dog. anyway, if willow tail gets clear sky killed, i support her, i will clap and cheer and throw a whole party

I cannot stress enough how gruesome her death is, you honestly just have to read it for yourself. I wasn't kidding when I compared it to torture porn.

Red Claw then interrogates her, asking why she did all this and getting her to admit that she was behind the bunny bones plot the entire time. Because she wanted revenge on him for getting her campmates killed.

Clear Sky starts whining that Wind Runner trusted "A ROGUE" over himself, a known liar, until she shuts him up by pointing out he would have done the exact same thing with his own cats. Then we get more Willow Tail agony,

And while all this is happening, there's also excruciating detail on Wind Runner's snapped leg. She's in a ton of pain, Moth Flight is extremely upset seeing her mother in such a state, and in the shuffle... no one notices that Willow Tail has died.

So... yeah. Clear Sky actually directly brutalizes two women in this book, Moth Flight and Willow Tail. His orders get Micah killed and should be extremely traumatic to Acorn Fur, who is forced into a high-pressure position without proper training. He killed his own son and blamed the nearest responsible woman, and taking Moth hostage gets Wind Runner killed.

The only "consequence" he sees is the loss of his son, which he is 100% responsible for. No one else had anything to do with the death of Tiny Branch.

I also have no idea how no one in a team of several writers (this is a post-Story Team book) didn't catch this, before you ask. They also didn't catch that Skystar's first instinct after his death was literally to attack the nearest woman, in the field guide they just released. It's beyond parody.

Anyway bonus: Willow Tail's blinding vs Brokenstar's blinding.

To put into perspective just how gorey Willow Tail's death is. This is the prose they use to describe the suffering of a baby-killer and murderous tyrant. Meanwhile, the woman who was planting bunny bones on the border gets her eyes gouged out.

Kakanaru au where kakashi gets hurt on a mission and passes out in the middle of a forest on the way back to Konoha.

When he wakes up he’s neatly laid out in the middle of an old shrine, with fresh bandages wrapped around his stitched up wounds and warm tea at his elbow.

The fact he remained unconscious through someone moving him and closing his wounds was discontenting even if it wasn’t particularly surprising. He did lose a lot of blood and chakra after all.

Now that he’s awake, kakashi knows he should leave. He knows better than to test his luck staying in place for too long anywhere outside of the village.

But…he’s curious. And despite the stitches, he’s still in danger of infection considering Konoha is over a week away in his current state.

So he leverages himself up, and tries to look around as much as he can. But the entire shrine is empty. Not a single sign of the one that helped him.

When he wakes up again a few hours later there’s a pot of warm tea at his side to replace the old cup, a little pile of fruit, and new bandages. The day after that, there’s sake and plum wine added to the mix.

Kakashi doesn’t really know what’s happening but he’s never been one to sit idle nor has he ever been an ungrateful man. So as soon as he’s able to get up without his head spinning he gets to work. he sweeps the floors and dusts the cobwebs. Even polishes a little golden fox statue he finds tucked behind a wooden alter.

It’s the least he could do for his hidden host. The caretaker of this place maybe?

Kakashi’s body and chakra recovers faster than he anticipated. After five days he leaves even as the Hatake part of him that lives in back of his head keens.

Before he goes he pats the golden fox on the head. It was oddly cute compared to the 9 statues of snarling stone foxes surrounding it, though there was undeniable beauty in those too.

A few months later he’s injured again and realizes the shrine is on his way back to Konoha. He stops there to rest for the night and heads out in the morning, only taking the time to drink some of the tea and wipe down the alter, barely noticing how his chakra coils have refilled already.

And it keeps happening whenever he gets injured. He comes, he rests, he cleans, and goes with a pat to the gold statues head.

Until one day he wakes up to a long limbed blond at his side instead of the usual tea and fruits. When the blanket shifts to reveal a bare back and smooth tan skin he thanks every god out there for his mask covering his blush. Sleepy blue eyes blink open at him right on cue and honestly? Kakashi thinks he deserved that for not putting the pieces together earlier.

no caller ID pops on your screen, pulling your attention away from your previous task at hand: not fucking up your eyeliner. you typically wouldn’t care if it was a little uneven, but you’re going on a date tonight, for the first time in so long, and you want everything to go as smoothly as possible.

which is why you groan when you end the call, and that same no caller ID pops right back up seconds later. you know who it is—who else would it be? you figured he’s already seen your story of being excited for going on your first date in a while, on the only app you hadn’t blocked him on. petty? perhaps, but it’s on him to be keeping up with you despite you cursing him out for wasting your time and then blocking him right after.

you watch it ring though, contemplating for a while longer than you should. you blocked him for a reason. no need to entertain his same shit that he always spews to you when he realizes that he might be losing you once more?

….but it doesn’t hurt to hear the hero beg for you.

“What do you want, Bakugou?” You sigh irritably as you finally answer his call, putting him on speaker as you go back to even out your eyeliner. You hear him huff on the other side of the phone at the use of his surname, but he doesn’t say anything about it, instead, quickly telling you what he’s been bothering you for.

“Who’s the fuckin’ loser that’s gonna drool over how good your tits look in that stupid green dress you love so much?” Bakugou grunts, and you instantly feel your face heating at his crude words. You glance over with a frown at that same green dress that makes your tits look good, where it hangs on your closet.

“None of your damn business, Bakugou.” You snap at him, wondering if it’s too late to find something else to wear. “Not like you ever took me out in my stupid green dress.” Your voice holds a level of bitterness that only he can bring out of you, and you hear his sigh through the speakers.

“I told you this before, I’m always—”

“Busy.” You cut him off, voice suddenly thick as you think back on the countless rejections he’s splattered at your feet every time you tried to further your relationship with him. “You reminded me of how busy you’ve been since you first started this whole situationship.”

“Situation—? Huh? We were dating!” Bakugou protests with a huff, and you can hear how he paces the floor quickly. You glare at your phone, setting down your liner to instead pick of your (his) favorite lipgloss.

“You’d have to ask me out to be dating, Bakugou. You’d have to court me to be dating, Bakugou. You’d have to make time for me and take me out on dates and not hide me to fucking date me, Bakugou.” You spit at him, venom dripping off of your lips in waves. You don’t know why you answered, why you even entertained him. You shake your head with a huff when the line goes quiet, eyebrows quirking up when your date sends you a text to make sure you’re still on for tonight.

“I’m sorry.” Bakugou mutters pathetically, his voice suddenly soft. You hesitate, for some reason, when it comes to texting your date back. Why do you always hesitate when Bakugou is around?

“Let me make it up to you, court you, and shit. I can take you to one of my favorite places, you can wear that pretty green dress and that gloss you know I love.” His voice is pleading, thickening and sweet and suffocating. You shouldn’t respond, should reply back a yes to your date.

“Please? You know how much you mean to me.” Bakugou mumbles, and you can hear the earnestness in his voice. Why haven’t you said yes to your date yet?

“I’ll do better this time. Just one more chance, sweetheart.” Bakugou’s voice is so soft, you’ve never heard him this vulnerable before. You sigh with a shake of your head, slumping back into your seat in defeat.

Yknow I’m surprised that more ppl don’t make their lambs have more internal angst abt being a cult leader against their will and how it affects them mentally.

Like they weren’t really given a choice and while Yes, they did ursurp Nari the only other choice they had was dying if they gave the crown back and that’s pretty fucked up isn’t it? either dying again or having to take the role of the new death god.

I try to touch upon this with Solange, who hates the fact she’s a cult leader despite trying her hardest to distance herself from it post Nari ursurp ( ie calling it a Flock and trying to make it more of a community than a cult ). If it wasn’t for the fact Nari would have killed her Solange would have given Nari the crown back.

Deep down she knows that the cult roots will always be there. She hates that she has an obvious power imbalance between her and her followers and the fact she IS technically manipulating them despite not intending to. Even with Ellena who Solange knew pre execution and who sees Solange as less of a god/cult leader and more of an equal there’s still that power imbalance between them.

Solange tries her damned hardest to be as benevolent as she can despite the circumstances but she’s almost constantly wracked with guilt. At one point she completely stops doing sermons because doing them made her feel sick to her stomach afterwards.

She still does rituals but they’re relatively rare ( the only real consistent rituals she does are funerals and sometimes feasts )

Also the whole reason she doesn’t have kids in her cult ( outside of Mayberry and I think Webber? ) and forbids her followers from having kids is because she wants to try and minimize the “ damage “ she’s done regarding her cult/flock ( granted in doing so she’s technically causing more damage to her followers who desperately want kids )
